The short version

GamesBeat reports that Rockstar plans to release GTA 6 on PC in the first quarter of 2027, citing four anonymous industry sources. Rockstar did not respond to GamesBeat and has announced no PC version. The console launch on 19 November 2026 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S is unchanged.

Quick answer

When is GTA 6 coming to PC?

GamesBeat reports that Rockstar plans to release GTA 6 on PC in the first quarter of 2027, so between January and March. The report cites four anonymous industry sources. Rockstar did not comment and Take Two has announced no PC version. Consoles still get the game first, on 19 November 2026.

GTA 5 players on PC waited 19 months. GTA 6 players might wait about four.

That is the claim in a GamesBeat report published on 13 October. It says Rockstar plans to put the PC version out within the first three months of 2027, according to four industry sources familiar with the studio's plans. All four asked not to be named to protect business relationships.

Has Rockstar confirmed GTA 6 on PC?

No. GamesBeat says a Rockstar representative did not respond to a request for comment before publication. There is still no PC listing on Steam, the Epic Games Store or the Rockstar Games Launcher.

Rockstar's platform page lists PS5 and Xbox Series X|S only. Take Two's August results name the same two platforms.

Claim	Status
Console launch on 19 November 2026	Confirmed by Rockstar
PC release in Q1 2027	Reported by GamesBeat, four anonymous sources
Exact PC date	Unknown
PC store listing	None

Why would a Q1 2027 PC date be unusual?

It breaks Rockstar's own pattern. GTA 5 reached consoles in September 2013 and PC in April 2015. Red Dead Redemption 2 took about a year to make the same move, as our PC explainer sets out.

A launch by March 2027 would cut that gap to somewhere between two and four months. GamesBeat adds that the PC build would still have to pass the same quality bar as the console game before it goes live.

Is there any doubt about the report?

Some. PC Gamer says it is taking the claim with a grain of salt, and points to the risk that an early PC date could pull sales away from the console launch. The monitor accounts we track also picked up one dissenting post from RevuoGG, which says its own source sees PC later in 2027. That is a single unverified account, so treat it as a counterweight and nothing more.

Take Two reports its next quarterly results on 9 November. That is the first scheduled moment the company could say anything on PC.

Should PC players wait or buy a console?

If you only play on PC, nothing changes today. Crews that mix PC and console players should read our GTA 6 Online PC guide. There is no store page to preorder from, and any site selling a GTA 6 PC download is a scam.

If you want to play on 19 November, you need a PS5 or an Xbox Series X|S. Check the file size guide before preload day, and keep the delay timeline open for the moment Rockstar puts a PC date on paper.
