Same price as PS5, a box that needs no disc drive, and codes that are not region locked.
The short version
GTA 6 launches on Xbox Series X and Series S on 19 November 2026 at $79.99 for Standard or $99.99 for Ultimate. It is not on Xbox One, Game Pass hasn't been announced, digital preorders preload from 12 November, and Rockstar says Xbox codes are not region locked.
Quick answer
Is GTA 6 on Xbox?
Yes, on Xbox Series X and Series S from 19 November 2026, at $79.99 for Standard or $99.99 for Ultimate. It is not coming to Xbox One. Digital preorders can preload from 12 November, and Game Pass hasn't been announced. Rockstar says Xbox codes are not region locked.
Series S owners usually lose out on boxed games, because the console has no disc drive. GTA 6 is different. The box contains a download code, so the Series S can play the boxed copy like any other Xbox.
The price matches PS5. Take Two set it at $79.99 for Standard and $99.99 for Ultimate, and UK stores list £69.99 and £89.99.

Is GTA 6 on Xbox One?
No. GTA 6 is built for current consoles only, and Rockstar Support lists Xbox Series X|S and PS5. Rockstar also ended GTA Online on Xbox One and PS4 in December 2024, so the older consoles are fully out of the picture.
Is GTA 6 on Game Pass?
Not announced. Big Rockstar games have not launched on Game Pass on day one before, and nothing in the store listings suggests GTA 6 will. If that changes, we will update this page.
Are GTA 6 Xbox codes region locked?
No. Rockstar told players that Xbox Series X|S codes are not region locked, while PS5 codes must match the region of your PlayStation account, as VICE reported. That matters if you buy a code from a shop abroad.
Does GTA 6 run on Series S?
Yes. Series S is a launch platform. Rockstar hasn't published resolution or frame rate targets for either Xbox, so wait for tests at launch before reading too much into specs.
Storage is the bigger worry on Series S, with 364 GB usable out of 512 GB, as IGN found. Our file size guide covers how much to clear, and if you are thinking of switching to a computer, read why GTA 6 isn't on PC yet.
