A homebrew developer reached the newest PS5 firmware a month before launch. Game files are still out of reach, and the files are staying private.

The short version
Homebrew developer Gezine posted a 15 second video on 19 October 2026 showing debug settings on PS5 firmware 14.10, the version a datamine says GTA 6 needs. Notebookcheck reports the exploit is private and the hypervisor bypass used to copy and boot game backups does not work, so nothing shows GTA 6 running on a jailbroken PS5.
Quick answer
Is there a PS5 jailbreak for GTA 6?
Not one anyone can use. On 19 October 2026, PS5 homebrew developer Gezine posted a 15 second video showing debug settings on firmware 14.10, the version a datamine says GTA 6 needs. Notebookcheck reports the exploit is private, and the step needed to copy and boot game backups still does not work.
Two words and a 15 second clip. That is all Gezine posted at 9.28pm UK time on Monday, and by Tuesday morning the post was close to 2 million views.
The caption read "Hello 14.10". By Tuesday, GTA accounts were tying it to the GTA 6 launch on 19 November. GTAonlineNews, which has about 417,000 followers, quoted it with "There's now a PS5 jailbreak for the version that will run GTA VI". The reporting so far describes something much smaller.
Is the GTA 6 PS5 jailbreak real?
The video is real, and it shows access to the PS5's debug settings on firmware 14.10, the newest system software Sony has released.
A jailbreak is a way to run unapproved code on a console. Homebrew developers, people who write their own apps for locked hardware, use it to load those apps. Pirates use the same route to load copied games, which is why Sony patches the holes it finds.
Notebookcheck describes the video as showing access to the console's debug settings. tbreak says the same, and adds that the kernel exploit Gezine used on 13.xx firmware was patched in 14.00, so this is new work. Italian site BiteYourConsole found no public steps that anyone else could repeat.

Can the 14.10 jailbreak run GTA 6?
No, not on anything shown so far. The hypervisor bypass needed to make and boot game backups does not work, Notebookcheck reports.
The hypervisor is a layer of PS5 software that sits above the main system and guards it. Getting past it is what lets people dump a game's files and start a copy. tbreak, citing Gezine's posts as reported by Twisted Voxel, says the old method for dumping game files fails on every 14.xx firmware and a separate hypervisor exploit may be needed.
The exploit is also private. Notebookcheck says it is unclear whether Gezine will upload the files, since doing so could draw Sony's attention and a fresh patch. Some followers have already asked the developer to hold off until GTA 6 is out.

Why does GTA 6 need PS5 firmware 14.10?
A datamine of the PlayStation backend says the launch build needs it, though Sony and Rockstar Games have not confirmed that.
A datamine means digging through files or store data for details nobody announced. An earlier Notebookcheck report credited the find to the datamining account PlayStation Game Size.
The timing explains the noise. Relapse reached firmware 13.60 in late July, Notebookcheck says. Sony's 14.00 update on 16 September started blocking it, and 14.10 on 1 October added more security fixes. If GTA 6 refuses to start below 14.10, every older exploit is useless for it.
Should PS5 players change anything before GTA 6 launches?
No. If you bought your copy, this demo changes nothing about how you will play.
If the datamine is right, you will need firmware 14.10 or later, so let your PS5 update before launch day. Our GTA 6 file size guide covers how much space to clear. And the only genuine early download is the preorder preload from 12 November, as our early access scam report explains, so treat any "cracked" GTA 6 link as bait. The Cyberleek threats in our leak claims tracker are a separate story with their own unproven promises.
The next real signal is whether Gezine releases anything at all. Until then, a PS5 needs three things for GTA 6, the update, the space and 19 November.
