Quick answer
Is the GTA 6 Launch Trailer out?
Yes. Rockstar Games released the GTA 6 Launch Trailer at 2pm UK time on 15 October 2026. It runs about 90 seconds, opens with Lucia calling Jason from jail, reveals that Jason left the army in trouble and debuts a new song by Justice. The 19 November release date holds.
The last trailer before GTA 6 launches starts with a phone call from jail. Lucia rings Jason from inside, Vice reports, and the pair reconnect before the job that sets the whole story moving.
Rockstar Games put the Launch Trailer on YouTube and the GTA VI site at 2pm UK time. Its post on X passed two million views within about half an hour.
What happens in the GTA 6 Launch Trailer?
It sets up the story of Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos in about 90 seconds. Rockstar's own description on YouTube gives the premise.
“Jason and Lucia have always known the deck is stacked against them. But when an easy score goes wrong, they find themselves on the darkest side of the sunniest place in America, in the middle of a criminal conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida”
Jason gets the new backstory. He left the army after getting into trouble, Radio Times reports, and Vice says he did not leave on good terms and now struggles to find work.
Fan account SourceVI goes further. It says Jason left with no compensation and took work on boats in the Leonida Keys alongside Cal Hampton. Treat that as one account's reading of the footage until the game confirms it.
Dexerto spotted an ankle tag on Lucia, which it says confirms an earlier rumour, and a mission where helicopters carry part of a bank vault into a building. The romance gets more room too. Radio Times notes a couple of intimate shower scenes between the two leads.

What song is in the GTA 6 Launch Trailer?
The song is Flower in a Hurricane by Justice, featuring Tame Impala, SZA and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. Rockstar also says Justice, the French electronic duo, composed the game's original score.
The single is out now on streaming services, Vice confirms. It also sits on "Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album", a 34 track soundtrack you can presave now. Prices for the CD and vinyl preorders are in our sister site's GTA 6 Launch Trailer song guide.
Was the GTA 6 Launch Trailer captured on PS5 Pro?
No. Rockstar's YouTube description says the footage was captured entirely in game from a PlayStation 5, and Vice reports it was the regular console.
A few posts on X claimed PS5 Pro footage, and Rockstar's note contradicts them. The 27 minute Extended Look carried the same PS5 label, as our Trailer 3 explainer covers. This one ends on the PlayStation outro, Radio Times notes, with a Captured on PS5 card beside the release date.
When does GTA 6 come out after the Launch Trailer?
GTA 6 still launches on 19 November 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar repeated the date in its post, and nothing in the trailer changes it.
Digital preorders can preload from 12 November, according to Take Two Interactive's preorder announcement. Our GTA 6 file size guide covers how much space to clear before then.
