Quick answer
Did Rockstar want Daft Punk for GTA 6?
A music leak account called Has It Leaked says Daft Punk's management were pitched a final comeback for the GTA 6 soundtrack, with what was “essentially an unlimited budget”, and that Justice were Rockstar's second choice. It names no source. Rockstar Games, Daft Punk and Justice have not commented.
Daft Punk said goodbye in February 2021 with an eight minute video called Epilogue, the BBC reported. Now one leaker says the duo were offered a way back, through GTA 6.
What does the GTA 6 Daft Punk rumour say?
It says Daft Punk were offered a final comeback for the soundtrack, and Justice got the job after. Has It Leaked, an X account with about 40,800 followers that posts music industry leaks, wrote it at 2.43pm UK time on 19 October.
The post says the management were pitched “a final comeback” with what was “essentially an unlimited budget”, and that “Justice were Rockstar's second choice.” By 9pm UK time it had about 908,700 views.
It never says Daft Punk turned the offer down. Relays such as Noticias PlayStation wrote that the duo rejected it. That part is a guess, based on Justice getting the score.
Is the Daft Punk GTA 6 claim confirmed?
No. We found no music or games outlet confirming it, and nobody named in the post has spoken.
When one reader replied that the source was made up, Has It Leaked answered at 7.03pm that it has leaked Daft Punk and Justice news for more than 10 years. That is a claim about its record. It is still one source.

Justice, the French duo of Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay, composed the original score, Pitchfork reported on 15 October. Their song Flower in a Hurricane plays in the Launch Trailer.
